After watching tons of Destiny alpha gameplay, I've been getting this odd itch to dip back into Defiance just a little bit. That game wasn't amazing or anything, but it was definitely fun. Also, I still have another steam key for it from that 4-pack I bought forever ago....

Apparently I picked a good time to foray back into the world of Defiance, as it has just gone ftp for PC, but if you had previously purchased it, you get shit-tons of fun stuffs, like free inventory upgrades, loadout slots, moneys, etc. A huge update for the game was released a day before my birthday as well it seems. Also, the show starts its second season tomorrow. All of this, I had no idea about until I randomly decided I wanted to kick around again in this game that I haven't played in over 8 months or so.

Oh hay I kinda miss this game. Mostly because my character looks so badass.
I'm tempted to log in and grab a screenshot just to show her off.

Doooo it. I'm going to play some of that and some TSW when I get home. They added a lot to the game.

Tried to whirl the camera around fast enough to get a shot of her face buuut this is as close as I could get.

But yeah. I tried playing, realized I had forgotten all of the controls and logged out. It's kinda a ghost town in there.

Man, she looks way more badass than my male Irathient. My guy just looks silly. Yeah, it took me a minute to re-familiarize myself with the controls, but it came back pretty easily. I also started playing with a control rather than a mouse and keyboard and was enjoying that a lot. There were quite a few people online last night when I logged on it seemed.

Things they added/ changed that you might not be aware of:

There's no longer a giant death robot guarding the Golden Gate Bridge.
Stims/ Spikes--consumables for group/ personal buffs. Spikes are placed in the ground and buff all allies within the AoE, stims are basically potions that give you nano effects.
15 new perks dealing with nano effects
Enemy and player shields now include varying degrees of armor plating (a new type of armor), which can be broken.
Threat system which changes the difficulty/ appearance of enemies based on the number of players in an area. It also adjust the EGO point rewards accordingly.
New type of random public event--Incursions
You can now hold down the weapon swap key to swap between different loadouts, rather than only being able to do so from the character screen.
Weapon rarity and power now determines the weapon's damage, and you can increase rarity levels via crafting.

Also, like I said, it's totally free to play this game now, but if either Brio or Jonas wants my spare key, you can have it. You'll get daily lockboxes and increased inventory and whatnot.

Also also, I just REALLY fucking love the music in this game.

Looks interesting, but I barely have the time to play the games I have installed now. Ima resist the temptation to install anything else.

And jordon your character does look badass.

*holds blinking neon OPINION sign* It's fun to play for a little bit before going to something more engaging. More fun than most shooters.
The cash shop outfits are probably my favorite part about the game xD That and driving vehicles, ramping off hills and whatnot.

This reminds me the Steam Summer Sale is fast approaching and I'm going to try to resist the urge to buy anything.
